School of Music - Spring 2022 - Second Year
The project is mainly about the study of solid and void and how people circulate through the spaces created by the solid and voids. The precedent study of Museo Jumex inspired the circulation of the project. Meaning most of the circulation takes place in one main area and people gather and occupy the spaces that branch off the circulation. The facade of Museo Jumex was also an inspiration of the project. Solid mass with voids cut out from it. While researching the Lower Garden District what stuck out was culture and music. This led to the use of the grand piano as the main rule for the design of the project. Breaking down the piano into simple shapes and patterns resulted in the main spacial void of the project and the circulation pattern across the floors as people travel through the soilds and voids.
