What if housing design began with the porch as infrastructure; where the porch is the generator of urbanism and small neighborhood complexes? Rather than conceive the porch as a superadded element onto a core work—usually a single-family home—the porch is rescaled to the level of infrastructure (e.g., length of a city block) and shapes the core work.
Using 'landmark' taken from Kevin Lynches 5 elements of a city, we asked the question: What if an A-Frame design was looked at from a larger scale of a block rather than a single home?

The A-Frame provides amenities for young families such as; a library, cafe, recreation areas, and a daycare with a playground. The block becomes a 'sea of vegetation' to house amenities that 'float' out in the vegetation. This vegetation barrier also provides a gradual change between the public areas of the block and the private housing areas.
