This project is about weaving spaces and lives. Starting with the original Mar Vista house and dividing the main space into two separate pieces, using those shapes as "strands" or "threads" to weave together public and private space and circulation. Then applying the same weaving pattern to the walkways and paths around the site. A thread comes from the Mar Vista, over the second unit, and leading up to the third. The second thread comes from the first unit and reaches over the existing Mar Vista house, creating a community space for the residents to gather and enjoy. Continuing out onto the roof is a woven garden that looks out over the Mar Vista Tract.
